[GOV] The government network

Democracy means “people power”. Created in the ancient Greece system appeared to be a most successful political invention. And as it was in Athens – the real power didn’t belong to the “ochlos” (the crowd), nowadays the citizens have also a limited influence. Meet the Government Network – a project which wants to turn the political world upside down.

The main idea standing behind this project is to build a borderless nation open for all the people. So if you are tired with you country and always wanted to be a part of another nation this is a project for you.

The whole ecosystem of the government network will consist of the following parts:

  • Identity Management Hub
  • B2B, B2C marketplace and solutions
  • Financial solutions using a stable cryptocurrency
  • Escrow and arbitration solutions
  • Proof of authenticity
  • Citizen governance through the DAO
  • Voting, polling and petition solutions
  • Communication and voicing platform
  • Third-party applications

The technology the government network wants to use is called:  A DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization). It is one of the most complex form of a smart contract, where the by-laws of the decentralized organization are placed into the code of the smart contract. As I read on their website:

“The Government Network is not focussed around solving any particular problem, rather it intends to provide an ecosystem of governance-related services to innovate and improve the current rule of law.”

The team

The team is represented by:

Jens Lievens Team Leader (CEO)

Michael V. Khalsa Lead Visionary

Washington Kapapiro Head of Development and Expansion

Tim Mak  Token Strategy and Operations

Bukhosi Sibanda  Project Manager Africa

Stefano Virgilli  Head of relationships

Genelle Keswick  Brand & Communication Lead

Gaurav Areng Chakraverti Community Engagement Strategist

I don’t have many questions for the team, despite the fact that for some it is not the only project they work on. I have to point out Michael V. Khalsa a project visionary who have more than 40 years of an experience in the IT sphere. Most likely he still remembers the first IBM PC from 1981.

As you can see there are not many technical specialists among the team members. This is why the Government Network is hiring. So if you are jobless and have blockchain technology in a little finger, you can find an application form on their website.

The team gets the support from a pretty modest advisory board consisting of:

Efraim Wyeth Advisor

Dr. Mustafa Disli Advisor

The project has been listed on the main websites dealing with ICOs, like ICO Bench, ICO Marks, ICO Crunch and Crypto Potato receiving middle rates.

PROs and CONs

  • Interesting model ( we live in times when the old concept of a nation or a country becoming out of date. This is why it is worth to follow such initiatives).
  • Partnership with Global African Business Club
  • Big community

  • I don’t really know what is the reason for becoming a government network citizen
  • Technical documentation is written in complete gobbledegook (actually you can use this adjective to the whole concept).
